Anna Rose is my inspired figurative artist. When she was a child she spent any free time she had drawing and painting. She was inspired by her grandfather who stared painting at the age over 70. She studied fine art at Hillsdale College from 2003-2007, and in 2006 she took a figure painting course at the Florence Academy of Art. I really like her style of painting and how the colors clash and how realistic they look. She also gains inspiration from the joys and struggles in her life.
So my process for this was first I got water color and just painted the whole piece of paper. Second I drew a turtle and then drew the same one and cut little holes on the turtles shell. And last I colored the bottom turtle with different water colors and glued the second turtle on top, then glued the whole thing on the paper. What i thought was successful about this is how good it came out and how detailed it was. What I would change about it is maybe i could of made the turtle pop out from the paper. And what drove me to do this piece is that one I really love turtles and I really like things that have a lot of color on them.
On the paper mini relief i did a okay job but i could have put a little more creativity in it and added a bit more color because it just looks a little plain. But the one thing i like about it is the swirly paper in the middle of the two circles. Calvin Nichols is a Sculpter from Canada. He studied graphic design from 1976-79 in Ontario, Canada. He owned his own design studis on Toronto, Canada in 1981. His work is mostly paper sculpters with his intrests in wild life. He has gallery showings in the U.S. as well as Canada. In 1996 he achieved the award got merit- society of animal artists. He has a website at http://calvinnicholis.com. His work intrests me because i am also into wildlife and animals. Paper art/sculpter is something i can probably do fairly well with as I dont actaully have to draw anything with detail. My next project will be e a cut out turtle with a color background.
